Geeta Brana

Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor

I created a “Women Focused” wealth advisory practice because I wanted to help women bridge the confidence gap when it comes to investing. With extensive global investing experience and a career that spans over 24 years and three continents, I have often seen how the financial planning industry fails to adequately address women's unique needs and perspectives.

My career in the International Capital Markets started in 1995 with Lloyds Capital Markets, London, UK where I trained in all aspects of International finance and credit analysis. I later joined Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in 2000, where I obtained extensive experience structuring and trading debt packages for multinational corporations throughout the United Kingdom, Eastern Europe, US, and Japan.

In 2003, I began my career in the United States with Smith Barney’s Wealth Management Division, (Citigroup) turning my extensive knowledge to helping high net worth investors. In a primarily male-dominated environment, I was able to build a successful wealth management practice in Washington DC and later New York City working with individuals and institutions.

After a career break while my children were young, I have returned to wealth management through Freedom Capital Management (FCM), a boutique independent advisory firm with deep roots in Monmouth County, NJ.

In my spare time I am a public speaker, facilitator of wealth workshops, financial columnist for Monmouth County Woman magazine and an advocate for women’s empowerment and education. I am also the Founder of a volunteer organization, “WHEEL” (Women, Helping Educate & Enhance Life). Currently, the focus of my wealth advisory practice is on “Women in Transition”, assisting women in all phases of their lives.
